Back in the USA

Actually I got back on Monday April 4th. A fun, adventurous trip with so much I’d never seen before. But its good to be back in the States. I missed driving on the right side of the road!

Some of my favorite sights on the English part of my trip?

Bath – Lovely city, plenty to see and had gorgeous Georgian architecture. Great walking city once you get to the city center. Plus people are really friendly and helpful if you’re lost. I still need to see the American Museum.

Woodstock/Blenheim Palace – This place, the ancestral home of Sir William Churchill and residence of the 10th Duke of Marlborough stunned me. Wish I had spent more time here. Its a mini museum and homage to Churchill’s life. I’d love to come back and see more of the residence, as well as explore the city of Woodstock.

The Cotswolds – I did not spend enough time in this part of England. I’d need at least 3-4 days next time. I only got to about 4-5 towns, which is not nearly enough. But I really liked what I saw.

Gloucester – This was a quick side trip, but the Gloucester Cathedral and Docks were worth the trip and the wait for some Gloucester commemoration.

London – This goes without saying. So much to see and do, but not enough time. Really glad I finally got to visit here. And my family made fantastic tour guides.

Anyhow, I have actually backtracked in my second manuscript and found some more areas to edit in the earliest chapters, which has brought me now close to 40,000 words removed and under 300 pages. The goal is to still get this beast under 200K words, making it easier for the next editor to sink their teeth into the story.
