Didn’t think I’d every fully say this in my life. But three really bad prequels and other shenanigans have finally done it.
I’m kinda done with Star Wars. Yes, I just said that.
Don’t get me wrong. I will always hold Star Wars with a fondness. I grew up with the Original Trilogy. It was honestly the vast imagination of Star Wars that helped shape my own when it came to sci-fi. Star Wars will always be a part of me. But now, when it comes to yet another altered version of the DVDs or a new book squeezing more blood from the SW Universe stone or that Clone Wars cartoon (which is actually better than the Prequel Trilogy by miles), I don’t really care. I’m not as extreme as those crazies who feel George Lucas personally murdered their childhood and every happy memory they’ve ever had. What I remember as a child will always be in my memories with fondness. Now, there’s no excitement in me when it comes to that mythos. It’s just there now, with a remnant of nostalgia.
It’s sad that this day finally came. Yet the day they mentioned the Star Wars Blu-Ray with new, unaired scenes, and I came back with ‘Meh, don’t care,’ that’s when I knew it was kinda over between myself and a galaxy far, far away.
Oh well. Just had to get that off my chest. In the mean time, enjoy another alteration to the OG trilogy.
