The new, full Man of Steel trailer that’ll be playing before The Hobbit came out yesterday ago and lit up the Interwebs. We get a fuller scope of the film, which features a rebooted origin story, action and explosions up the ass, shots of Supes in full costume, Pa Kent (Kevin Costner), Ma Kent (Diane Lane), Lois Lane (Amy Adams), Zod (Michael Shannon) and Jor-El (Russel Crowe). In case you’ve heard, Warner Bros is at it again with another attempt at bringing Wonder Woman to the small screen, and on the CW. Only this time, the plan is to give Diana the ‘Smallville’ treatment and show her days as a teenager before becoming Wonder Woman. You can read all about it here. However, WB caused all WW fans to have a massive internet freak-out when the casting call for pre-Wonder Woman was named ‘Iris’ instead of Diana. I was one of those whose scorn was incurred. But WB quickly assured everyone that ‘Iris’ was just a codename given the covert nature of the project. Huh. My thoughts on this new version of Wonder Woman?

Avengers. You know, that movie directed by Joss Whedon that was the culmination of Marvel’s brilliant shared cinema universe plan? Its now the Number 1 grossing comic film of all time, surpassing The Dark Knight with close to $1.4 billion and counting. Avengers is doing so well that its torpedoing other summer movies that have been released five weeks afterward! Crazy, right? And yes, I’ve seen it twice now, something I rarely do for theatrical releases.
My question has been this. Will what Marvel’s done be enough to wake Warner Bros up on the potential they have in the DC Comics Universe outside of Batman and Superman? Read More…
