I was having dinner with a co-worker and fellow writer last night who has a pretty cool sci-fi concept they want to get produced. The problem is that when they pitched it to an agency in order to acquire representation, the agents’ notes called the project ‘too ambitious’ and for it to be watered down to the basic procedural elements (think CSI but in outerspace) and scale back on the serial high concept arcs.

Yes and no.
Yes, because things jumped forward one year and a lot of things shifted for our favorite residents of Bon Temps. The show actually needed this, given how damn compressed the True Blood timeline has been for the past three seasons.

I LOVE Game of Thrones! HBO has done it again in terms of creating a speculative fiction smash hit out of a book series.
They’ve done it once with True Blood (based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris) and now have taken George R.R.
