Game of Thrones, Post-Game

Watched the Game of Thrones premiere on Sunday and Monday. Does it live up to all the hype and promotion HBO is giving it? Here are my thoughts.

– Cinematography is gorgeous. How they filmed and colored certain lands really gave one a sense of diversity in the world of Westeros.

– The House of Stark, lead by Eddard ‘Ned’ Stark (Sean Bean) was established very well.

– Some of this season’s big plot points were laid out on the table, which is what any good pilot should do. 1.) Eddard becoming the King’s Right Hand and will soon deal with the craziness, intrigue and politics of King’s Landing

– How Viserys Targaryen is using his sister Daenerys Targaryen as leverage to regain his crown, by marrying her to a savage race of warriors.

– How the King’s wife Cersei, who along with her brother and secret lover (INCEST), might have killed the King’s previous Right Hand and then murdered Eddard’s youngest son for catching them in the throes.

There was not much action, as the premiere was mostly setup and introducing the characters, but Game of Thrones has promise. I’m willing to stick around and see how everything goes. Til next week!
