Black Swan and the latest project…

The latest writing project is going well. I decided to to just vomit a long synopsis all out onto a document just to see if it all makes sense, which thankfully it does.

Its interesting to dabble in a non-science fiction project, but I’m looking forward to the challenge. A nice way to detox after being steeped and soaked in sci-fi for so long. Once I’m satisfied with the finished outline, then I’ll start writing it out. Excitement!
One area of my writing that I need to work on is the amount of characters I focus on. While from my point of view I want my stories to be told and viewed from many angles, as a number of characters have different roles to play. But I get that from a reader’s stance, it is hard and at times confusion to have to keep up with multiple points of view. It forces them to go back and reread other sections more to remember where a character came from.

This next story focuses on only two perspectives which at times intertwine. It will be a test.  One I’m looking forward to. Would love to tell more, but I’d rather wait until I have a decent portion completed.

On another note, just saw Black Swan today. I’m not sure what to think of it. The cinematography had a raw unfiltered look that worked wonders, as did the angles and the viewpoints. The acting was fantastic. Natalie Portman really did some of her finest work as the emotionally and sexually repressed Nina. And Mila Kunis is a far better actress than I gave her credit for, with great comedic timing. But I think at certain points  the visual displays of Nina’s descent into madness took me out of the movie.

I don’t know. I’d have to watch it again to form a more concrete opinion. And NO, I’m not watching it again just because of the lesbian sex scene.

Okay not really.
