I was having dinner with a co-worker and fellow writer last night who has a pretty cool sci-fi concept they want to get produced. The problem is that when they pitched it to an agency in order to acquire representation, the agents’ notes called the project ‘too ambitious’ and for it to be watered down to the basic procedural elements (think CSI but in outerspace) and scale back on the serial high concept arcs.

This Sunday, True Blood returns. Can’t. WAIT. This is a show that I initially wrote off after 1.5 episodes in Season 1. But after I kept hearing everywhere how insane this show is, I gave it another chance and started watching again in Season 2. Haven’t looked back since.

I LOVE Game of Thrones! HBO has done it again in terms of creating a speculative fiction smash hit out of a book series.
They’ve done it once with True Blood (based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris) and now have taken George R.R.
