Chuck is starting to Suck

Chuck.

NBC’s little show that could. It started about 4 years ago and despite not so great ratings, it has lasted far longer than expected. Its premise is simple, an everyday geek who accidentally uploads a massive database into his brain and is now fighting criminals all over the world with the CIA.

And at the emotional crux of this was the ‘Will-They, Won’t-They’ relationship of the titular character and his sexy CIA handler Sarah Walker. The two finally got together in Season 3, which was when Chuck started to suck.

The new Superman

Looks like Warner Bros found its new Man of Steel in British actor Henry Cavill, star of Showtime’s The Tudors. I’ve heard of him but have seen next to none of his work, so I don’t really have a strong opinion about him.

On the positive side, he’s taller than 6′, has blue eyes and dark hair, (requisites in casting Supes) so he has the look down. Interestingly enough, he actually had been cast as Superman in the McG version that never was years ago, and was in the frontrunning for Batman before Christan Bale snatched that one up. And what I’ve heard from others, Henry Cavill has the acting chops to back up his hype.

But the funny thing is how many people are bitching about how yet another superhero role has gone to a Brit, adding him to a growing list that includes Christian Bale (Batman) and Andrew Garfield (Spiderman).

My thoughts? So what?! If American actors want these superhero roles, let them step up their game.
I’m excited to see what kind of Superman Cavill can show us come December 2012. Nuff said.
