Synopsis progress

I love finding unexpected gifts.

For starters, I’ve been kicking around a few new ideas for stories–some sci-fi, some not, others novels, one a television idea.

And then there are those instances when you find something you didn’t expect and it ends up being better than what you started with.

Case in point. So I started on the synopsis for First Renaissance, which has been as enjoyable as pulling knifes out of my leg. Its been a while since I’ve really read or thought too much about the first Star Brigade book, hence why its been such an arduous task to remember all the details and then parse out the less essential ones.  So I decided to go back and read the outline.

What I find instead is infinitely better!

Apparently, when I made my first go at getting a literary agent in 2009, I had already started on a synopsis but must have stopped working on it to focus on finish the manuscript for the second Star Brigade novel.

I’m skimming through my docs looking for the First Renaissance outline and find this unfinished synopsis which is more than halfway complete, albeit a few areas that need filling in. Plus, its dead-on in terms of accuracy. AWESOME. This helps much more and gets me excited about my first book again.

I’m hoping now to get this outline done within the next week or two so I can get started submitting my first book to literary agents hopefully within the next month or two. Wish me luck!
