I saw another author do this on her blog, a year-end assessment on some highlights of her year, so I decided to do this myself. 2012 has been a momentous year on all aspects. Hear are some of the better points that happened throughout.
- CCEkeke.com 3.0! To be honest with you, I had seriously let any website design skills atrophy. But I’m a solid web producer/project manager. So I decided to finally create the website I would need in order to promote and sell my books once they were ready. Thanks to a WordPress guru, I now have a site that I can get years of use out of once my writing is prepped and ready for your eager eyes!
- Ever since I traveled to Durango, Colorado years ago I’ve been pretty fascinated by the American Southwest. At the end of the summer, I had the pleasure of visiting Zion and Bryce Canyon in Southern Utah. I would recommend this to anyone who’s got wanderlust. SEE IT.
- While I’ve been writing Star Brigade, I’ve come up with short story ideas that would compliment and even supplement some of the bigger stories. This year I finally decided to start actually writing them. So far I’ve completed a dozen for Star Brigade (sticking to the SFWA guidelines of course) and a few even for another non-Star Brigade projects. Its been a refreshing and exciting way to better my writing skills in a limited word length and get to know certain characters a little better!
- I can’t even begin to tell you how much amazing music I discovered on YouTube. Thank you YouTube suggestions bar…and Russ Chimes!
- I am always thankful when I see an original gem of a sci-fi film, and that was my reaction when I saw the brilliance that was Looper. Check it out today!
- Marvel Phase One is complete! I can’t tell you how happy I was to see The Avengers, the culmination of Marvel Entertainments ambitious shared cinematic universe, dominate so hard?? I was proud and excited as a movie fan, comic fan and a proud geek!
- And last but not least, I moved into a much better location of Los Angeles after almost five years in a cheaper but less savory suburb. That in itself is reason to celebrate.

My previous computer died on me…the night before I got laid off from my previous job near the end of 2011. Ouch, I know. But once I started at my current job, I was able to build a newer and much better desktop computer.} Also, I replaced my old laptop (which served less than adequately as my temporary main PC before I built my current desktop). The new laptop is an upgrade an a half, and serves me perfectly as my travel PC.
Anyhow, time to close out 2012 and ring in the new year. Till then, enjoy these two sci-fi short films I found one the Interwebs!
